Observation point Zion

Zion National Park consists of most of the natural wonders covered worldwide. Not only trails, but the National park includes lush rainforests, waterfalls, diverse wildlife and bird species, canyons, and other iconic landmarks that combine to form its versatile identity. One of the most accomplished and impactful trails of Zion National Park is the Observation Point Trail.

The Observation Point Trail is roughly located within the Zion National Park itself and is closer to the Weeping Rock and East Mesa trails. However, the starting point of this trail is at the east entrance of the national park, so, technically, this trail starts outside the national park.

The difficulty level of this trail is moderate to a little high, especially for those who have not faced such challenging trail hikes. All the angles of this trail cover incredible panoramic views of the Zion Canyon and the rock formations surrounding it.

There primarily exist 2 routes to hike the Observation point and the difficulty level of the hike depends on which route is chosen by the visitors. If visitors choose the traditional or most common route of Weeping Rock Trail, then the difficulty level of the hike becomes extreme. This is because this route consists of numerous steep switchbacks which makes the hike tiresome and very difficult to complete.

However, if visitors choose the other route to hike the trail, i.e. the East Mesa Trail, then the difficulty level is moderate. This is because the elevation experienced by hikers on this trail is not sudden but gradual and this becomes less tiresome for hikers to achieve. But, to hike through this route, visitors have to walk on the dirt road.
